Le Corridor culturel de Griffintown est fier de s'associer au Festival MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE pour la 7e Nuit blanche à Montréal présentée par Hydro-Québec. La fête à New City Gas commence le samedi 27 février à 13 h pour se terminer à 2 h du matin le dimanche 28 février.

Rares sont les moments dans l'histoire d'une ville où s'offre la possibilité de revoir ses valeurs et de redessiner son visage avec force et d'une manière publique. C'est un tel moment que nous sommes en train de vivre. Les projets de redéveloppement de Griffintown, des Bassins du Nouveau Havre, du Vieux-Port et du Quartier Bonaventure juste au sud-ouest du coeur de Montréal nous fournissent une occasion unique de faire l'inventaire de ce qui peut et doit être sauvé du passé historique de Montréal et à quelles fins - de voir comment nous pouvons le mieux nous servir de notre héritage afin de façonner le caractère de notre ville et de lui préparer un bel avenir. Nous proposons l'établissement d'un « corridor culturel » s'étendant le long d'un axe est-ouest dans ce secteur sud-ouest de notre ville. Il a pour objet d'adapter et de mettre en valeur les sites d'intérêt architectural et historique existants aux fins les plus diverses : événements culturels communautaires, galeries privées, économusées, cafés artistiques, restaurants, école d'art, studios d'artistes et plus. Ce concept comprend un taxi-calèche et/ou une navette qui pourrait circuler sur toute la longueur du corridor.

En partenariat avec la Fondation du Horse Palace de Griffintown, d'autres organisations locales et les citoyens du quartier Griffintown nous invitons les Montréalais à venir voir ce que nous avons en offre.

Ce sera l'occasion de découvrir les curiosités locales, des lieux culturels et des visions du présent, du passé et de l'avenir à l'exposition du Corridor culturel envisagé pour ce quartier significatif mais longtemps négligé, adjacent au Vieux-Montréal et au Centre-ville. Dans le cadre inspirant d'un trésor caché de l'architecture industrielle du XIXe siècle, profitez des présentations et discussions sur ce Corridor et ses points d'intérêt ainsi que d'une exposition d'art et d'autres prestations : performances, danse, films, musique live, poésie, sans oublier les chevaux:

The Griffintown Cultural Corridor is proud to join with the MONTREAL HIGH LIGHTS Festival for the 7th edition of Nuit blanche à Montréal presented by Hydro-Québec. Festivities at New City Gas will begin on Saturday, February 27 at 1 p.m. and run until 2 in the morning on Sunday, February 28th.

Only rarely in the history of a city are there moments when it is possible to re-examine its values and redraw its image in a powerful and public way. This is such a moment. In light of proposed redevelopment plans for Griffintown, the old Canada Post building, the Old Port, and the Bonaventure expressway in the south-central heart of Montreal, we have a unique opportunity to look at what can and should be saved from Montreal's historic past, and for what purposes - how best to use our legacy to shape the character and enhance the future of our city. We would like to propose the establishment of a "cultural corridor" extending along the east-west axis of this southwestern section of our city. The aim is to adapt and valorize existing sites of architectural and historic significance for the purposes of everything from community cultural events to private galleries, economuseums, arts cafés, owner-operated restaurants, an art school, artists' studios and more. The concept includes a calèche taxi and/or shuttle that could run the length of the corridor.

In partnership with the Griffintown Horse Palace Foundation, other local organizations and the Griffintown community we invite Montrealers to come and see firsthand what we have to offer.

This is an opportunity to discover local landmarks, cultural venues, and visions of the present, past, and future at an exhibition of the Cultural Corridor envisioned for this important but long-neglected district adjacent to Old Montreal and Downtown. In the awe-inspiring setting of a hidden treasure of early industrial architecture, enjoy an array of art, dance, live music, film, discussions, poetry, performances, presentations on the Corridor and its points of cultural interest, and yes, horses:

Un DJ et des gens qui dansent dans un espace insolite - mais on ne dérange pas les voisins. Ce spectacle étonnant, c'est "Silent Disco", un concept né en 2002 aux Pays-Bas, d'où il s'est répandu à travers l'Europe et l'Amérique du Nord. Les "Silent Disco" peuvent être des soirées privées ou des festivals avec des milliers de participants de tous âges. Du disco, du rock, de la salsa et toute une gamme de genres musicaux sont partagés avec les participants équipés de casques sans fil.
Venez vivre l'expérience "Silent Disco" à la New City Gas, complexe historique qui est un des sites menacés du patrimoine montréalais!

A DJ and people dancing in an unusual setting - with no noise to disturb the neighbours. A surprising and soundless spectacle to view, this original concept born in Holland in 2002 has since spread throughout Europe and North America. Silent Discos can be private parties or festivals with up to thousands of participants of any age. Disco, rock, salsa and a wide variety of music is shared with participants wearing wireless headphones.
